Steven Bauer played the Federal Drug Agent Enriqué Cameréna in Michael Mann's Drug Wars mini series. This was for the torture and death scene. Most of the bruises were done with Supra Color, Today I would do it in Illustrator or Reel Temporary Tattoo Colors for much longer wearability.
