The Makeup Room Brush Set

Caring for your brushes. During a makeup shoot, to be sanitary, I quick clean the bristles with a spray on shampoo.
At the end of the week I use the following method for cleansing my brushes
Swish just the tops of your brushes (avoiding the wood handle) into a cup of gentle liquid dish cleanser or shampoo. You will see the soapy water turn color as the makeup is cleansed from the brushes. Rinse the brushes either in another cup of water or under the faucet. Using your fingers squeeze any excess water off the brush as you reform the brush bristles. Lay on a towel overnight to dry. If you take care of your brushes, they will last for years. When the brushes are dry, place back in the roll up carrier and tie

A word about sponges and puffs Makeup sponges come either as wedges in pre-cut blocks, circles, squares or loose in the bag. They usually are made of latex and come pre-cut and disposable. Wedges, thin circle and square sponges (usually found in compacts) are used for applying foundation and those little eyeshadow sponge tips are great for heavier shadow application... if you can hold onto them. I feel most comfortable using the better quality bigger wedge sponges that come pre-cut in square blocks of 8. and tear off for use, as well as the professional sponge tip applicator in the Brush Set rather than the ones that come with shadow compacts.
