Giorgio Armani at Saks Fifth Avenue is a beautiful kiosk I've written about before. This time I wasn't going to leave without purchasing the Maestro Black Mascara. It's the applicator I like which evenly distributes mascara to lashes with it's 4 combs and 30 teeth that promotes volume and combs through lashes leaving them clump free.

One of the main reasons for being at the Armani counter is to try Giorgio Armani skin care line. Armani uses Obsidian, a natural mineral extracted from petrified lava found on the volcanic island Pantelleria. The mineral complex he uses for the Crema Nera moisturizer brings energy and vitality to the skin and promotes wellness. It feels lovely going on, and we'll see how well my skin does with it. I'm loving the new Stila Fall Fantasy makeup. Finally several shadows that are matte to promote depth without making the skin look wrinkled. I use the rich matte liner shades for the crease and liner. The shadow and cheek palettes and the wonderful long wear lipsticks are my favorites. The Madagascar Agate Palette is rich browns, bronze, a base of sheer yellowish silver and a peachy gold blush. At the Counter Fall 07 brought me first to the Trish McEvoy counter at Saks Fifth Avenue. There I met makeup artist Katie Klein, and sat down to have my makeup done. The experience was excellent. Her touch was light handed (the way an artist touches the client's face with either hands or brushes is something I notice now that I've been on the "other side" of the makeup chair). She tapped, or shook the brushes to get the excess off before applying too much
shadow or blush to my face. The colors she chose were from a new Fall Collection page called The Prettiest and dedicated to a Trish McEvoy staff member that lost her battle with cancer. White peach, and Mocha were applied to my lid and crease area and Lava lined my eyes at the lashes. She was able to get the eye liner very close to the lash line with a cool little slanted liner brush. Because she knew her business, she applied my darker smokier eye makeup first and then the face makeup was applied. This way if a dark shadow drops down to the cheek, the face makeup hasn't been ruined. Concealer was Correct & Brighten #1. I had told her I don't wear much face makeup, and she actually heard me and just applied Mineral Powder in Nude #32 and Healthy blush. My lips were lined and then a bit of gloss called Simply Glamorous was applied. I walked out feeling good, not too made-up and ready for my next adventure and another makeup counter.

Have you heard about lash extensions? The price for an application is coming down and being "flirty" is now more affordable. Finally I get to try but a meer few products from the Lauren Hutton Collection. I worked with Lauren years ago on a movie and just adored her spirit and humor. When she came out with her cosmetic ine for babyboomers, I applauded the easy, no brainer way to apply your makeup without worry of goofing up, or applying too much or too little. Double Duty concealer is a spot concealer on one side with sharper point to conceal blemishes, veins and age spots while the other side has a broader point and sheerer formula to correct under eye darkness or red around the nose and mouth. The Lip Trick Double Stick is a liner to define the lips on one side, and a coordinated lipstick to "blush" the inside of the lips for a healthy childlike pout. For years I've been using Gerda Spillmann Bio-Fond Foundation in studio work for Television shows. So, when I found 2 full palettes of their foundations, I snapped them up. These foundations come in two different packaging. The plain, but bountiful round package that has healing properties, high SPF and stays on all day.
