Smashbox has some new innovative products out this spring. You can turn winter dark eye colors brighter and softer with quad shadow Eye Illusions $32. Lighten and gloss those deeper winter lip shades or wear Lip Illusions alone using the three glosses in this palette with brush and mirror $26. Apply Backdrop to your face as a moisturizer or over makeup for a cooling effect to hot lights, warmer days or just a good feeling. The cooling effect will last 30 minutes or so. In light, medium and dark $28. Another Spring into Summer item from Smashbox is Develop Compact Bronzer. This bronzer available in two shades is a sparkle-free (hurray) SPF 20 cream to powder Bronzer. The texture is so light, you can hardly feel it, but you can see it. A nice bronze tint like you've just been to Malibu - only without the sun damage! I like to dampen the included sponge for easier coverage. $32 Soften your dry rough lips with Emulsion, a peppermint and sugar based lip granual scrub. What is interesting about this lip scrub is that not only does it feel refreshing, but when it rinsed it leaves a soft residue of shea butter and antioxidants. Follow with Lip Therapy with SPF 15 that leaves your lips moisturized and protected. Beauty Trends by M.A.C are three Quad Eye Shadow palettes in matte/metallic/shine shades, matched up with three Lipglass stains of varying shades and textures. Maybelline "Fairy Pretty" Spring 2003 Collection is all about whimsey and color. This is the epitome of Spring and what the trend is all about. And the prices are such that you can really experiment. The colors are great and collectable. Check out the Expert eye shadow 8-pan. This small but mighty pan of 8 supersoft shades can be layered or worn alone. Try the minty green along the lashline upper and lower, and pink up to the brow bone. Sweep Brush blush in Pretty Peachy across the apples of the cheeks for a flushed look. For lipstick, I went for Garnet Garden which is less pink for my yellow undertones, but try all four of the new shades to see what's best for you. For a shiny wet look wear Lip Polish over your lipstick or for a softer look wear it alone. Also in the lip and nail collection is Wet Shine Diamonds. It's wet and sparkly and can be worn alone or on top of one of the lipsticks. I wear Sparkling Sand and Pink Carrots and truth be know they do sparkle. One of my favorite cosmetic brands is Calvin Klein. The line is varied enough for all ages and all skin types. However, what I like is that the collection offers pure makeup pleasure for adults - aka women over 30 with a few eyelines who appreciate matte shadows that don't make eyes look puffy and overly wrinkled. The blushes are practically mistake proof in natural colors. The lipsticks and glosses are devine! Full bodied color that after blotting stays on. Listen up .... That's Lipgloss that actually STAYS ON! There's six different types of lipcolor from full lipcolor to color palettes of lip wash. They can be applied like a wash of color or layered for more intensity. The non-streaking formula contains Aloe, Vitamin E and Soybean Oil to moisturize, Ginseng to stimulate circulation and antioxidant Vitamins A and C to rid the skin of free radicals. You can also blend any of the shades or combinations with your body moisturizer for an all over glow. Outtasight: blemish blaster/color corrector: covers blemishes and helps to heal with its two sided herbal pencil. Apply the clear end directly to the problem area then the concealer end. This subtle radiantly healthy look can be achieved with the Three Custom Color Specialists Eye Shadow Trio using Cool Camel as a wash on the lid to crease, Cool Meadow (a nice green) at the corners and near the lash line to pop the eye a bit and Warm Black to give the new cat-eyed effect. On the cheeks blend the new cream to powder Beige Blush across the cheekbone and apply the Warm Pink Lip Gloss to finish the effect. I suggest a little lipliner maybe in warm beige with the gloss to give fullness to smaller lips. Cargo is an interesting line that I've always heard of but never tried till now. I got the Mariana Islands Lip Gloss Palette. This is a limited edition palette inspired by the Pacific Ocean Paradise. Three lip glosses in Saipan - A rich golden poppy, Tinian A sheer, shimmering sand and Rota - A warm, sun-kissed tangerine are packaged in a mirrored compact with a very decent brush.
